Today!

Hello, I am
Dr. Fallon Alexis Jones-Lemmons
Combining Nursing Research With Social Science
My research aims to understand how African American/Black school-aged children make independent food choices. Being an advocate of children's rights, I intend on pursuing my research with children participating as co-researchers. I believe that children are the experts of their own experiences, forgoing antiquated research methods that hid behind power structures that gave birth to feminism and critical race theory. Children will be heard. I follow the philosophical underpinnings of Paulo Freire. My research is generously supported by funding from private organizations.
My Story
Nurse Researcher/ Social Scientist/ Behaviorist
My medical career began overseas, in Germany, in the US Army. I remained in Europe for six years, by way of a year-long journey in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. My first large-scale humanitarian mission would take place in Luanda, Angola, Africa. After the military, I found a home within the Veteran Affairs Medical Center among mental health colleagues. It is here that I decide to land in nursing and would never look back. I have been formally educated and trained by multiple tribal influencers, such as the Lakota and Lumbee. I have taken my skillset from coast to coast as a nurse traveler. I seek to push the nursing discipline further in the representation of minorities and the vulnerable.

Texas Sprouts,
Dr. Jaimie Davis (PI)
The TX Sprouts programs offered elementary-aged children a chance to experience hands-on garden, nutrition and cooking experience during the school day!
This is a research project funded by the National Institutes of Health. It is a randomized controlled school garden intervention, where 16 elementary schools across the Austin area are assigned by chance to either the 1-year garden intervention or control group.
We measure the effects of the program on childhood obesity markers, dietary intake, dietary related behaviors, physical activity levels and school performance.
The intervention schools received e a garden designed and built at their schools (~$5K each, paid for by the grant), weekly garden/nutrition/cooking classes taught during school hours to 3rd-5th grade students (which will be taught by a garden/nutrition educator provided by the grant), monthly garden/cooking/nutrition parent classes, assistance forming and resources to support a Garden Club at each school (consisting of interested teachers, parents, children, and staff) in the first year.

Accomplishments and Milestones
November 2022- Current
Associate Outcomes Researcher
ICON, Plc
As a qualitative researcher I collaborated on the development of research materials, including study protocols and interview guides, proposals, QAPs, grey research, and comprehensive literature reviews. I led and facilitated in-depth qualitative interviews with diverse stakeholders, including patients, caregivers, and clinical experts. I performed rigorous qualitative data analysis using industry-standard software tools such as MaxQDA, Atlas.ti, and NVIVO. I have managed clinical trials developing eCOAs, and COAs through CIUT/CDUT methodologies. I have collected and performed data analyses parsed by several methodologies, such as thematic analysis and grounded theory. I contributed to the drafting, review, and refinement of client deliverable reports, proposals, and peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts—with precision and clarity. I demonstrated advanced proficiency in scientific research methodologies, coupled with strong doctoral level written and oral communication skills in English.
I exhibited exceptional attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work cohesively within multidisciplinary teams. I applied extensive experience in applied research across academic, healthcare, and commercial settings, with a specialization in qualitative research design (coding) and interpretive analysis.
I effectively managed workloads in alignment with project scope, timelines, and quality benchmarks. I served as a subject matter expert in patient-centered outcomes research, particularly in pediatric populations and rare disease. I maintained a thorough understanding of global health economic and outcomes research principles and demonstrate familiarity with both foundational and contemporary literature. I possessed working knowledge of regulatory and scientific guidance, including FDA and EMA guidelines, FDA qualification processes, dossier structures, and ISPOR Task Force publications. I have also crossed the borders of qualitative research to include rater training. I am a rater trainer on a study that spans over 15 countries. My over 16 years of nursing gave me a strong foundation on the medical aspect of studies and was often time relied on by my team when confronted with medical processes.
