2026-2027 Michael L. Lomax Endowed Scholarship – UNCF

UNCF – United Negro College Fund

The 2026-2027 Michael L. Lomax Endowed Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship established by Tench and Simone Coxe in honor of Dr. Michael L. Lomax, President and CEO of UNCF. Offered in partnership with UNCF, this scholarship provides financial support to deserving students attending any of the 37 UNCF member institutions — the nation's historically Black colleges and universities.

Award Details: Endowed scholarship for students at UNCF member institutions. Specific award amount determined through the UNCF portal.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be currently enrolled or admitted to one of the 37 UNCF member institutions for the 2026-2027 academic year.
• Must demonstrate financial need and academic merit.
• Open to undergraduate students in any field of study.
• Must meet all general UNCF scholarship application requirements.

Application Deadline: June 1, 2026 (applications now closed for this cycle)

How to Apply: Complete all required steps at the UNCF scholarship portal (opportunities.uncf.org). All sections, essays, and supporting documents must be submitted before the deadline.

Dr. Michael L. Lomax has led UNCF since 2004, expanding its reach and impact for Black students across America. This scholarship carries forward his legacy of advocating for equitable access to higher education and honoring the mission that A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Waste®.

UNCF member institutions include Clark Atlanta University, Fisk University, Howard University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, Tuskegee University, Xavier University of Louisiana, and 30 others.
