Justice Department Expands Admissions Investigations into 15 Additional Medical Schools
U.S. Department of Justice (Office of Public Affairs)

On June 4, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division announced it has opened fifteen new investigations into potential race discrimination in medical school admissions. The probes follow recent DOJ findings that UCLA's and Yale's medical schools had illegally used race in admissions. The investigations will examine whether the schools comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act as interpreted by the Supreme Court's 2023 Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard ruling.
